Alarm Business License Chapter 720
Alarm Systems Code
Any business or person who performs work with alarm systems must obtain an Alarm
Business License. By definition, "business of any person who sells,
leases, maintains, services, repairs, alters, replaces, moves, or installs any
alarm system or causes the same to be sold, leased, maintained, serviced,
repaired, altered, moved, or installed in or on any building, structure,
facility, or premises."
A person desiring a license must call or write to request an application from
the Licensing Division and shall submit a written Application for License to
Operate Alarm Business to the Licensing Division along with a $100.00
annual fee and all attachments as described in the application.

an Alarm Business
(New Applicants Only)
The application requests the correct legal name of the owner, i.e., Sole
Ownership, Partnership, or a Corporation. (If applicant is a Corporation, a
copy of the State Certificate of Incorporation, a copy of the Articles of
Incorporation, and all amendments to the original Articles of Incorporation
will be required.) The DBA, address of business, phone number, and mailing
address will also need to be supplied.
If the applicant is a Corporation, corporate officers' names and titles will
need to be listed. If applicant is a Partnership, the names and addresses of
all of the partners will need to be listed. If the applicant is a Sole Owner,
his or her name and address will need to be listed.
Also required:

A list of all offices of the Alarm Business located in St. Louis County.

The full name and address, birth dates, sex, race, and social security number
of any employee (installer, clerical, secretarial, etc.) agent, corporate
officers, partner, or business associate whose position in the Alarm Business
gives him or her access to information regarding the installation and use of
the alarm systems for alarm users.

Copies of specifications on all alarm systems handled by the applicant along
with instructions provided to the alarm users and a statement of repair and
maintenance service to be made available to applicant's customers.
The application must be signed by the owner, all partners, or an officer of the
corporation and must be notarized. A fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) made
payable to St. Louis County Department of Revenue must accompany the return of
the application for License to Operate an Alarm Business.
Upon the filing a of license application, an investigation will be conducted to
determine that all requirements as set forth in Section 720.050(4) are
satisfied before approving the issuance of a license.
